Why my car accelerates slower when the AC is turned on?

yea i know this is normal for all cars. but why? when the AC is turned off i can have all the fun i want by using the engine's full power.. ok i dont drive THAT crazily. i care for the car too.. but why do i find my car struggling to accelerate when i turn on the AC?
