Other trials, besides Casey Anthony, that were complete circuses?

The Casey Anthony trial is the first one that I have followed closely. I was too young to follow the first OJ case closely, and I missed Phil Spector. Can you guys name some other well-publicized cases over the past 40 years or so that were complete circuses. What about some that had completely inept defenses?
